Our Verdict
Olympia Luggage offers some solid options backed up by a bit of sophistication at an affordable price tag.
However, their warranty cover is not the most user-friendly because the length of the warranty cover is often unclear online, plus you have to pay for postage fees of replacement items.

Olympia Luggage Review
Olympia luggage may not be as well-known as Samsonite, but it’s still a popular brand with many suitcases and travel accessories on the market.
And unlike some of the top-rated suitcases, they are easy on the budget.
Most importantly, the brand claims their products are not only durable but also very dependable with cutting edge designs.
If you want to learn more about the Olympia Luggage range and be sure if they are a good choice or not, well, then you’re in the right place.
In this detailed Olympia luggage review, I’ve got a list of their top and favorite models to help narrow down your choice, and I hope you’re going to love them all.
Let’s get started…

Since its start in 1982, the company has offered high quality and reliable luggage pieces and accessories to meet all aspect of travel needs.
Another interesting fact is that the California based brand makes stylish bags at prices you can actually stomach.
Today, it offers a full line of suitcases, backpacks, duffel bags, totes and other travel accessories, all showing a trademark of dependability and quality.
Olympia Luggage is sold on their website and by a wide range of retail outlets.

Let’s jump right into the Olympia Luggage Review, starting with a scrutiny of four Olympia hardside luggage.
Table of Contents
Olympia Luggage Review – Hardside Luggage
Denmark
Made with ABS, the Denmark ribbed exterior is sleek and sturdy with chic colors to match.
Even though Polycarbonate makes a better choice for a hard-shell luggage, users have nonetheless found the Denmark to be quite resilient.
Expandable hidden pocket
I love the separate “hidden” pocket feature which make it really easy to access items tucked in here.
Anything you put in it is held and well protected in the middle of the suitcase, be it your laptop, wallet, keys, papers or any items you don’t want to dig around for.
I think the most impressive part is how you can access the space from the top without having to open the suitcase!
‘Unlimited’ Packing
With compression straps, interior pockets, and mesh shoe pockets, this baby can fit a lot.
It’s expandable too, so you can always stuff the case full of souvenirs.
And it even comes with a detachable clear vinyl pouch to stow all of your 3.4-or-less-ounce liquid.
Downsides
Despite its spinner wheels, some users have however complained about how the wheels can get easily beat up even on short use.
Also, there is no TSA lock integrated in the bag to prevent accidental damage.
While this is unfortunate, you can provide your own lock for extra security with this top quality 4-digit combination TSA-approved padlocks.
Denmark collection
This 3-piece set includes a 21″ carryon, a 25″ medium and a 29″ large checked bag.
Note: While the carry-on dimensions are perfect for most airline requirements, always verify with your airline to avoid nasty surprises.
Pros
- Affordable
- Expandable
- Sized for most airlines as a carry-on
Cons
- Fragile wheels
- No TSA locks
Apache II
Crafted from a 100% ABS glossy shell, the black colored Apache II is designed with the option of either a blue, purple, lime or red accents to choose from.
Hidden compartment
This bag also has the bestselling feature – a hidden compartment in the expandable section for easy access to your laptop or quick item even when the case is shut and erect!
Effortless mobility
Each bag in this set allows for fantastic mobility with 4 spinner wheels which turn 360 degrees.
Of course, the aluminum push handle fits while the top and side carry handles make for easy lifting.
Smart organization
You have two options for organizing your items. A full zipped mesh pocket with a shoe pocket on the top compartment and a bottom compartment with tie down straps and a small pocket.
Plus it expands up to 2 inches, if you need the extra space.
Downside
The bag doesn’t come with TSA lock but you can buy a quality TSA-approved padlocks here for added security of your items.
Apache II Collection
The Apache II Three-Piece set includes a 21″ carryon, a 25″ medium and a 29″ large bag.
Note: Only the carry-on has the hidden compartment.
Pros
- Decently priced
- Spinner wheels
- Expandable
Cons
- No TSA locks
- Handle locks in one position
Titan
The Titan collection includes a 21”, 25” and 29” checked bag and is made with polycarbonate.
Spacious
It is spacious to fit 2-3 days trip with nice organizational features including separate compartments, straps and internal pockets for your clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc.
In addition, it’s expandable to fit even more stuff!
Comfortable
It’s equipped with really smooth multi-directional spinner wheels and sturdy retractable handle.
Downside
There’s no patented secret pocket in the Titan luggage compared to the two models above.
Also, the wheel handle locks in one position only.
And on top of that, there’s no TSA lock which is such a bummer especially if you intend to check your luggage.
But fret not, you can provide your own lock to secure your items.
Nonetheless, considering all the above-mentioned features, I think this is a pretty solid luggage.
Pros
- Roomy
- Durable
- Multi-directional movement
Cons
- Lacks hidden compartment
- No TSA lock
Nema
The Nema model is one of the innovative luggage offered by the brand.
It’s made of polycarbonate, is lightweight and equipped with TSA-approved lock for extra security.
Storage
The interior is fully lined with a bottom compartment to keep your clothes and a top compartment for organization.
There are however a few disparities here.
The first is that the 18” carryon isn’t expandable while the 25” and 30” expand at 3-inch and 2-inch respectively.
Also, only the 18” bag has detachable mesh pocket on the exterior that you can throw in last minute items like books, water bottle, etc.
Similarly, only the 30” case has shoe pockets inside, the other two sizes have mesh pockets instead.
Hidden compartment
Only the 22” bag has the unique Olympia secret compartment for easy access to important items during security.
It features 8 wheels spinner that spin a full 360 degrees for you to handle sharp turns with ease.
The aluminum handle fits nicely and has a push button lock for easy use.
Downside
Perhaps the price range being a bit higher than the usual models in the brand’s collection is its major downside.
Collection
The Nema 3-piece set includes an 18” carryon, a 22” medium and a 30 large checked bag.
The 18” carry-on is guaranteed to meet any airline weight restrictions and can even be stowed under the seat.
Overall, the Nema is a great looking bag with 8 colors options to fit your personal style.
Pros
- TSA lock
- Fits airline carryon size
- Several colors
Cons
- Carry-on isn’t expandable
Olympia Luggage Review – Softside Luggage
Hamburg
It comes with a total of 3 pieces which should take care of most of your travel needs, especially those extended trips.
The Hamburg pieces are made of heavy duty 1,680 denier poly-ballistic that is sturdy, even with continual use.
Enormous Storage
Best of all, the Hamburg is a masterpiece of organization.
On the front exterior, there are 3 zipped pockets for your documents, wallets, tech gears, books, keys, sunglasses and other items you need quick access to.
Inside, there’s a spacious compartment, shoe pocket and wet pocket for your items.
It also has elastic tie down straps to hold everything in place with 20% expansion capacity.
In-line skate wheels and handle
The three bags have 2 in-line skate wheels on the bottom instead of spinner wheels.
Now, in-line skate wheels tend to be sturdier because they don’t rotate and so are less apt to get damaged due to rough terrains.
Although the disadvantage is that it’s quite tricky to maneuver especially in tight spaces.
Collection
The set includes a 22” carryon, a 25” medium and a large 30” inch checked bag.
Note: Only the 22” bag has a water bottle pocket and verify with your airline to be sure it fits as a carryon.
Pros
- Durable
- Sturdy wheels
- Expandable
Cons
- No 360-degrees movement
- Few colors
Tuscany
The Olympia Tuscany luggage is made of heavy duty 2-tone polyester with a padded front panel to protect your delicate items.
Capacity
Outside, there’s a front zippered pocket for storing your tech accessories, or last-minute items such as passports and tickets.
Inside, a fully lined large main compartment with compression straps hold your items in place.
In addition, there’s a small slip pocket with a bigger pocket for all your smaller items. Plus the bag is expandable.
Downsides
Sadly, the bag doesn’t have lockable TSA zippers to keep your gear secure; you have to get one yourself.
Also, this isn’t the lightest set as the carry-on alone weighs 9lbs.
Convenience
The bags have spinner wheels for 360-degrees movements on any terrain.
There is also a u-tube push button handle with top and side carry handles for easy lifting.
Collection
Note however that there are a few differences between these three pieces.
For instance, only the 25” and 30” checked bags have built-in dual shoe pockets while only the 21” carry-on has a dedicated water bottle pocket.
Pros
- Expandable
- Smooth mobility
- Durable
Cons
- No TSA locks
- A bit heavy
Luxe II 3-Piece
The Olympia Luxe II Eva Set is an updated version of the popular Olympia Luxe 3-Piece set.
All three pieces of this lightweight luggage are made of heavy duty 840D Ballistic polyester fabric with an Eva foamed padded front panel for added protection. They also come in five vibrant colors to meet your personal style.
Capacity
On the exterior, I like the multi zip pockets which makes it really easy for you to access your items during security.
The interior is fully padded and lined with bright color prints for easy location of small items.
There’s a large main compartment with a small pocket, a zippered pocket and a wet pocket for your toiletries.
Being an expandable piece of luggage, you can add those souvenirs that you’ve bought!
Convenience
The wheels are smooth and quiet when you’re wheeling the luggage around.
The handle has two different positions that you can lock into to suit your own height.
Plus a 10-year warranty seems like a pretty fair deal!
Pros
- Expandable
- Smooth mobility
- Durable
Cons
- No TSA locks
Olympia Luggage Review – Backpack, Duffel & Tote
Perhaps, you are hunting for anything other than a suitcase, then this section is for you.
These reviewed products are not just functional or comfortable, but also within the affordable range.
In this Olympia Luggage Review, we’ll be checking out the best offers from the brand.
The Hopkins Backpack
The Olympia Hopkins Backpack is made with a durable 1680D ballistic fabric and is water resistant so it can be used in different weather conditions.

Aside a large inner compartment, there’s a padded pocket for your laptop, and an organizer for your small items like keys, pens, cards, etc.
If you like to keep things nearby for easy access, there are four pockets on the exterior as well as a water bottle holder.
Comfort
Comfortable to wear too, the sternum strap, with padded shoulder and back straps help take the pressure off and makes commuting so much easier!
8 Pockets Rolling Duffel Bag
This popular 8 pocket rolling duffel bag is made from high-quality 1200D polyester.
And you can choose between four sizes – a 22L, 26L, 29L and 33L options that are very lightweight.
Convenience
It has handles that stick together so that you can carry it like a duffel bag if you want to show off your muscles to the ladies.
And if you prefer rolling it, its in-line skate wheels make for effortless navigation.
When not in use, the telescopic wheel handle goes into its own zippered compartment, and locks into position when extended.
Grab handles at the top and bottom makes picking it up super easy.
Organizational pockets
Although not expandable, it’s very roomy with tons of little pockets all over (8 of them), so it is pretty convenient for organizing all your things.
They’re small though, you can’t fit much in them except maybe headphones, chargers, and stuff like that.
It comes with a U-shape top opening that give easy access to the spacious main compartment.
Downside
While it’s good value, just don’t expect it to be able to take intense abuse of dragging it around rough streets or checking it many times without falling apart.
Overall, it fits a weeks’ worth of clothes when you need to travel somewhere for business or leisure.
Deluxe Fashion Rolling Overnighter
This Olympia Rolling Overnighter is a favorite by users due to its attractive price and solid construction.
Aside being waterproof, the zippers are tough and the carry handles is sewn on well.
As a carry on, you can keep it under your seat without any problem when not overstuffed.
Roomy with many pockets
In the front zippered pocket, you can fit pencil bag, head phones, charger, small lotion, a small note pad and still had PLENTY of room for keys or anything else.
The 2 side pockets on either side with Velcro closures are both also spacious for your water bottle, glasses case, small umbrellas etc.
Padded laptop compartment
It’s spacious enough to contain a 15.6-inch laptop in a separate pocket, folders for work, lunchbox and all your other belongings safely away.
It has a retractable carry handle. But you can still just carry it around like a duffel bag if you wish.
On top of that, it’s available in patterns and colors for both men and women and well sized for work, weekend break or travel.
FAQs
Is Olympia Luggage Good?
From my research, the brand produces quality pieces of luggage that get positive ratings from their many customers/users.
Admittedly, they may not be the best luggage brand on earth, they certainly have many quality products that are easy on the budget.
And from the many reviews that trail their products – both good and bad – I have given the brand a 4.6 out of 5 in this Olympia Luggage Review.
What Is The Warranty Like?
Most Olympia luggage products come with a 5-years or 10-years warranty.
However, the detail for each product is not available on the product page, but specified on the product’s tag.
Meaning that you may only know about the duration of the warranty after you’ve gotten the item online.
This isn’t particularly helpful if warranty details are important to you as an online shopper.
So, you may need to message their team to get the exact length of the warranty.
Also, the warranty only covers manufacturing defects. Airline damage, transportation damage, accidents, and normal use aren’t covered.
In addition, the warranty claim procedure is quite rigorous.
You need to file the warranty claim form, take 2 – 3 photos of the item, scan it, include the receipt of when you bought the item and send to Olympia.
It doesn’t end there. You’ll have to pay for the postage fees for Olympia to mail the replacement item or bag to you.
To learn more about the warranty, visit https://www.olympiausa.com/pages/warranty.
Is Olympia Luggage Organization Friendly?
Another reason I think the Olympia Luggage is a good brand is how most, if not all of their luggage has expandable capacity.
The interior is nicely decked out with an interior divider and multiple pockets, which is great to keep everything organized and nailed down, especially if you’ve not on the packing cube bandwagon.
Note: it’s very important to remember to check the standards for the airline you’ll be using to be sure that you are in full compliance to avoid nasty surprises.
Final Thought
This wraps up my review of Olympia luggage. Go ahead and make your more informed choice.
And if you have used any of their suitcases in the past, share your experience by leaving a comment in the section below.
I’ll be happy to continue this conversation there and keep this review updated.

My favorite is definitely Nema! That luggage certainly meets all my needs. Thank you for writing an honest review and mention all the cons as well, I really appreciate it a lot.
My pleasure Ola.

It’s been ages since I bought a new suitcase. And your review made my mouth watering, so to speak. 🙂 I would sooo love to be able to travel again.
Since I don’t travel by plane out of environmental beliefs, no matter how beautiful the flight cases are, (I love the Hamburg one!) they wouldn’t be practical in the car boot.
I did fall for the backpack and the duffel bag. They look exactly to my taste.
Isn’t it amazing how the shape of backpacks have changed in a relatively short period of time? They used to be much rounder, but now that almost everyone is traveling with a laptop, those square ones are more practical.
Thanks Femi, for feeding my urge to travel. 😀
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Hannie – I love the food analogies in your narrative:), and like you, I can’t wait for some normality to return so we can travel somewhat freely again!
Best wishes.
