Samsonite is also committed to sustaining the environment, making them an eco-conscious brand.
Samsonite makes durable luggage that last a long time. You can rest assured that your Samsonite suitcase will last you up to 10 years or more.
More so, they have a reasonable warranty and repair policy, which is helpful when you need to repair your suitcase.
Samsonite offers both premium and mid-range suitcases with affordable prices.
The design of their suitcases is sleek and modern, which is suitable for business professionals There are also plenty of sizes and colors to choose from to suit your personality.
Read on as I expand upon these points.
Samsonite suitcases feature innovative features that make traveling easier and better for their customers. Despite being founded over 100 years ago; the company is up-to-date with new technology that you’d hardly find in other brands.
Samsonite suitcases have spinner wheels and retractable handles for easy maneuvering on the go. All of their hardside luggage pieces’ feature TSA-approved locks for better security.
They even managed to add TSA locks to their softside luggage, which some brands don’t do.
On some of their softside suitcases, there’s a cable that pulls through all the exterior zippers on the outer compartments and connects with a TSA lock. This way, you can lock all the outer compartments, rather than just the main compartment alone.
What’s even more is that some of their premium suitcases have an integrated USB charging port. This is really helpful for keeping your electronics charged while in transit.
Samsonite has set out to become the most sustainable travel luggage company in the world.
Their new global strategy, “Our responsible journey” confirms their goals to be achieved by 2030. These include goals for how the products are made and how long they last, as well as goals for reducing the impact their production has on the planet.
By making products that are built to last, Samsonite reduces their impact on the global waste system. They also provide long warranties and extensive repair networks.
Additionally, the company aims to minimize carbon emissions, and has a clear carbon reduction targets. Samsonite has a goal to be carbon neutral by 2025.
So, if you’re an eco-conscious individual, Samsonite may be a good choice for you, as they have an extensive approach towards reducing their impact on the environment.
3. Samsonite makes durable suitcases
Samsonite suitcases are made from high-quality, sustainable materials, which makes them durable and long-lasting.
Many of their hard-side suitcases are made from Makrolon polycarbonate, an exclusive multi-layered material that bounces back into shape, making it resistant to cracks.
This material is resilient and incredibly lightweight, which means you worry less about packing light to fit within the weight allowance for your carry-on.
Their soft-side suitcases are made from durable polyester fabric and coated with water-resistant material to prevent water from entering and damaging your belongings.
Samsonite Luggage is one of my top recommendations for the most very durable and well-designed white hardside luggage!
4. Samsonite offers a reasonable warranty policy
All of Samsonite’s suitcases are covered by either a limited 10-year warranty, a limited 3-year warranty, or a limited global warranty.
If your suitcase develops a problem caused by manufacturing defects in, Samsonite will fix or replace it based on their discretion and in accordance with the warranty terms and conditions.
Unfortunately, the warranty doesn’t cover damages caused by misuse, such as packing unusual items, general neglect, accidents, cosmetic damage caused by solvents, acids, water, or as a result of normal wear and tear.
Thankfully, Samsonite has a luggage repair policy backed up by the warranty.I In this policy, they will only repair your suitcase if the damage caused is determined to be caused by manufacturing defects. Any damage apart from this will be evaluated by their repair center. The possible outcomes of this evaluation include:
- If the suitcase is repairable and covered under warranty, the product will be repaired at Samsonite’s expense and returned to you.
- If the suitcase is not repairable and is covered under warranty, Samsonite will contact you and you will receive a comparable replacement at no extra cost.
- If the suitcase is repairable and not covered under warranty, you may either have the suitcase returned to you as-is or have it repaired at your own expense.
Sometimes, Samsonite can choose to repair any suitcase to reward their loyal customers even if it’s no longer covered under warranty.
5. Samsonite offers both high-end and more affordable suitcases
Many people believe Samsonite suitcases are very expensive and are on the higher end. While this is true to an extent, as the premium suitcases are pricey and cost up to $700, Samsonite also offers a wide variety of affordable suitcases that cost between $100-$150.
The Voltage DLX cCarry-n spSinner costs about $130 as of the of publishing this article. The suitcase has a stylish design and it comes in vibrant colors like red and white, which is ideal for you if you don’t want the conventional black color.
On the other hand, the Black Label Lite-Shock 30″ Spinner is one of their premium suitcases and retails for $700 on their site. This suitcase is one of Samsonite’s best innovations, as it is sleek, extremely strong, and incredibly light thanks to the material called “Curv”.
Samsonite has been consistent with the design of their suitcases over the years. They have maintained the same timeless style, which makes them to be loved by many.
Since the company started in 1910, they have produced stunning, sleek suitcases. Samsonite has evolved over time, making luggage for business professionals, frequent travelers and people who love the glossy design of their suitcases alike.
7. Samsonite suitcases come in many different sizes and colors
Samsonite suitcases come in different colors that are rich and modern including sand, gold, red, hues of blue and green, white, matte silver and many more.
The choice of colors depends on the type of suitcase you want to buy. You can choose = one that suits your taste and personality from the array of color collections they offer.
Their suitcases also come in different sizes, from their regular carry-on to medium checked-in and their large checked-in.
Their carry-on comes in three different sizes:21.25″ × 15.25″ × 10″, 16.5″ × 13.75″ × 9″, and 22″ × 14″ × 9″. These sizes can fit into the overhead compartments and under the seats of most domestic and international planes.
The large checked-in measures30.5″ × 19″ × 11.5″.

The Disadvantages of Samsonite Luggage
As “all that” as you think they are, Samsonite suitcases have a few drawbacks too. Consider these:
Some models can be expensive.
A lot of people choose the mid-range suitcases, believing they offer better value than the higher-price premium luggage. While it can be said that you’re paying for the quality, a lot of the times, the item is still overpriced.
For example, the 2-piece Black Label Cosmolite costs $1,150 and has received some bad reviews from customers claiming that the suitcase is not fantastic and not the quality they expected.
Few organizational features.
Some newer brands have surpassed Samsonite in this regard and offer better space to pack in more belongings The inner compartment of Samsonite luggage only features a mesh with a zip and an inner zipped compartment.
There have been complaints in recent years about Samsonite’s quality.
Samsonite is no doubt a very good luggage brand. They have many loyal customers who have stayed true to the brand for over 30 years.
However, in recent times, some customers have complained that Samsonite no longer offer the same quality as they used to.
This is based on personal opinions, however, and whether Samsonite has actually reduced the quality of their material and production over the years is unconfirmed.

Luggage Brand Alternatives to Samsonite
There are quite a few luggage brands comparable to Samsonite
If you’re interested in learning more about how they compare, and which ones may even be superior to Samsonite, read on.
Delsey is a good luggage brand with many great features. Similarly to Samsonite, Delsey is also committed to protecting the environment by using 100% recyclable materials for its suitcases.
They also offer a generous warranty, even better than Samsonite. They offer a lifetime warranty, but not on all their cases. Otherwise, you can get a warranty of up to 10 years.
The Delsey Paris Chatelet is my personal favorite. It offers some great innovations, like a unique brake system that locks the front two wheels in place to keep it from rolling away.
The suitcase also has TSA-approved locks for better security, and the sturdy wheels and retractable handle for easy maneuvering.
Related-The white Paris Chatelet suitcase from Delsey is one of my favorite stylish hardside luggage.
Samsonite and Tumi are two popular luggage brands, if not the most popular. Not long ago, Samsonite bought Tumi, but both companies operate individually.
Tumi makes good, high-quality suitcases with great innovations you won’t find in other brands. The Tumi Tracer Program is a unique feature designed to connect customers with their lost or stolen bag.
Since Tumi was acquired by Samsonite, their lifetime warranty was dropped to a limited 5-year warranty with lots of conditions.
Though more expensive than Samsonite, they have many loyal customers globally. People usually buy Tumi products more as a status symbol than anything else

Travelpro’s hardside suitcase is ideal if you’re checking your luggage.
Compared to Samsonite’s products, the Travelpro Crew 11” Hardside Sinner offers better interior packing options, which gives you ample space to pack your belongings. It has dividers and plenty of zipper pockets to stow away your items.
Like some of Samsonite’s suitcases, it has a USB port where you can charge your devices on the go. One downside to this suitcase is that it is heavy, weighing 7.4 pounds.
Final Thoughts on Samsonite Suitcases
Samsonite is one of the most popular luggage brands on the market. I can safely bet that out of 20 pieces of luggage in the average baggage carousel, you’d find 5 Samsonite suitcases.
They make durable suitcases that will last you a long time. They also offer up to a 10-year warranty, which is quite fair.
Moreover, their suitcases are reasonably priced, with the exception of their premium suitcases which are sometimes on the higher end.
