Very informative article! I genuinely learned so much about luggage sets and the many types of luggage sets out there. I loved many of the luggage set mentioned on your list – they were so beautiful and stylish but when you consider the durability, material and safety I do have to agree with you the Away Luggage 3 sets is the winner. I also like its ejectable battery to charge my phone when travelling – how cool is that! However, I also agree that the price my not be for everyone but you have provided on your list plenty of alternatives. It is just a shame that when I clicked the link to check them out on Amazon, most of them are unavailable at the moment.

Yes, the Away luggage set is very well made and the ejectable phone battery charger is definitely a major selling point because let’s face it, a dead phone battery is never fun when you are on the go. True, the price is on the high side, but I guess in this case, you get what you pay for and there are other alternatives on the list that are price friendly.

Thank you for your extensive research on this topic. When I was looking to buy a new suitcase I looked for durability first. I don’t travel much, but when I do I want dependability, that’s why any luggage that is well made would be my choice. I also want something that is easy to use, which is why I went for the four roller wheel model. Since I am an older single woman I want something lightweight as well. If I were to buy a new suitcase, I’d probably go with the Amazon 2 piece set.

That budget suitcase, the Rockland luggage certainly looks a lot more expensive than its true price. They did a really good design with that product, and it looks especially cool with the two-tone blue color.

My personal opinion is that if you are traveling on a plane, you should always go with a hard-cased suitcase when you are not home, you want the best protection possible!
Based on your buying guide, I think I will go with the Away Travel Suitcase as it is even cheaper than the Samsonite. I would like to ask though, do you think the upgrade to the Aluminum addition is worth it?

The Rockland luggage is a great deal, so much so that many buyers on Amazon are a fan too. Like you, I like hard-cased suitcases too because of the durability and protection it offers, just that the soft-sided suitcases tend to more flexible for when you need that extra storage.
The Away Travel set, The Aluminum Edition is definitely worth it only if you want a super durable luggage that you can trust to survive series of travels and years of use. It is however much more expensive, but the its durability is undeniable and there’s a warranty on it also, should anything happen. I hope I have answered your question.

Hey Fami, thanks a lot for your in-depth review of best luggages for 2022. As frequent traveller, I especially appreciate it. Also, as recently I bought luggage from amazon that cost $50, but was literally broken after first journey with plane. It is really sad, that nowadays this is considered as thrown away of money purchase and man has to pay much more. Anyway, I think the Amazon Basic set looks still affordable and good quality. Is is directly from Amazon? You said lock is missing, but i guess I can buy external one, right?

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with the cheap luggage that’s equally cheap in quality. It’s sad really that these very affordable bags are just money down the drain after one or two uses, but that doesn’t mean that all affordable bags are of poor quality. The AmazonBasics luggage set like you mentioned is affordable and is of good quality, and lots of buyers have testified to this.
And in regards to your second question, yes, the AmazonBasics is directly from Amazon and you can get external locks for it.
