Best Invisible Bluetooth Earbuds in 2020 – My Top 8

1. NENRENT S570 – best overall

I’ve chosen the NENRENT S570 earbuds as the overall best invisible Bluetooth earbuds for numerous reasons.

Firstly, I love how versatile and ergonomic their shape is, meaning that they fit perfectly in either ear. They’re also surprisingly comfortable to wear; something that I seem to struggle to find when it comes to in-ear earphones.

They weigh less than 4g, which is unbelievably lightweight and means you can barely feel a thing when they’re in your ear. The battery life is a respectable 6 hours, so while it’s not exactly ground-breaking or as long-lasting as the Powerbeats Pro True earbuds that we featured in our list of the best earbuds for 2020 guide, they still have a relatively good battery life.

Unfortunately, the NENRENT S570 earbuds aren’t waterproof, but that doesn’t necessarily make them less highly rated than any other invisible earbuds on this list as many of them aren’t waterproof anyway.

Furthermore, the NENRENT S570 hidden Bluetooth earbuds are perfect for listening to a plethora of different audio mediums such as podcasts, Netflix and Audiobooks. Their clear HD audio features make it a joy to listen to all kinds of audio and you won’t find yourself struggling to hear things.

I’d highly recommend investing in the NENRENT S570 earbuds as not only do they pack a punch when it comes to their incredible features, but they’re also an absolute bargain too!

Pros:

  • Very lightweight
  • Good battery life
  • Very comfortable to wear

Cons:

  • Not waterproof

Key specs:

  • Weight: 3.6g
  • Battery life: 6 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: no

2. JBL Free X – best for exercise

The JBL Free X discreet Bluetooth earbuds often come highly recommended to me due to how great they are for using while you’re working out.

While they’re a little heavier than most of their other competitors on this list, they’re still not nearly as heavy as some of the earbuds we featured on the best wireless earbuds in 2020 list.

These earbuds come fitted with an integrated microphone for clearer and more enjoyable phone calls and you can also benefit from hands-free phone calls which I find incredibly useful when I’m out on my bike or when I need to make a call at home, but my hands are full.

The battery life is a mediocre 4 hours, but that’s actually pretty similar to the rest of the hidden Bluetooth earpieces featured on this list.

One feature that does make the JBL Free X earbud stand out from its competitors is that it comes equipped with an IPX5 splash proof rating, meaning that they’re great for wearing while working out, or while running errands in the rain. You certainly don’t want to be wearing them in the bath, but you can rest assured that they won’t get damaged if a little bit of sweat or rainwater drops onto them.

Pros:

  • Splash proof
  • Average battery life
  • Good for working out

Cons:

  • Quite heavy compared to its competitors

Key specs:

  • Weight: 15g
  • Battery life: 4 hours
  • Waterproof: Splash proof
  • Noise cancelling: no

3. AIYIBEN Mini Bluetooth Earbuds – best budget

The AIYIBEN Mini Bluetooth Earbuds are an excellent budget option if you’re looking for a smart and compact pair of hidden earbuds for work. They’re incredibly lightweight so you can barely even feel them in your ears and friends of mine who have these particular earbuds say that they’re very pleasant to wear as they’re so small and lightweight.

Unfortunately, the battery life on the AIYIBEN Mini Bluetooth Earbuds is only a mere 2.5-3 hours so you won’t get much use out of them throughout the day. This means they’re probably not ideal for wearing all day long while you’re out running errands, but they’re practical to wear while you’re out for a run or while you’re on your daily commute to work.

One feature that I do love about the AIYIBEN Mini Bluetooth Earbuds is that they have a digital noise-cancelling technology built into them, so you don’t have to worry about any background noise if you’re trying to take a work phone call.

Overall, I think the AIYIBEN Mini Bluetooth Earbuds are a great set of invisible earbuds for novices as they’re small, compact and best of all, very affordable.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Very good budget option
  • Noise cancelling technology

Cons:

  • Not very long battery life

Key specs:

  • Weight: 9g
  • Battery life: 2.5 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: yes

4. Yelion Bluetooth Headphones – best usability

The Yelion Bluetooth Headphones are another great choice for budget invisible Bluetooth earbuds. They’re very lightweight compared to many other standard wireless earbuds but compared to the rest of the competitors featured on this list, their weight is pretty average.

They also have a battery life of just 4 hours, which isn’t really too much to shout about, but it compares pretty well with the other invisible earbuds on this list.

Another great thing about the Yelion Bluetooth Headphones is that they allow you to seamlessly flit between listening to music and answering a phone call; you can control all elements of the earbuds simply by using the headset locks. From what I’ve read online on various reviews for these earbuds, this is a very welcome addition for many people.

Their easy-to-use features mean that you don’t have to be a technical genius to use them or enjoy them; they’re simple to use, lightweight and have built-in noise cancelling technology.

Pros:

  • Average weight
  • Noise cancelling
  • Easy to use features

Cons:

  • Below par battery life

Key specs:

  • Weight: 4.5g
  • Battery life: 4 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: yes

5. Mpow EM16 V5.0 – best noise cancelling

The Mpow EM16 V5.0 invisible earbuds are a great set for all day use thanks to their longer-than-most battery life of 8 hours. This means you can wear them pretty much all day long without fear of them running out of battery.

I think the Mpow EM16 V5.0 earbuds would be particularly useful for professionals who like to listen to music on their daily commute, as well as for use in and around the office.

They have an in-built one-button control that’s remarkably easy to use and the single button delivers numerous different practical functions that make your life much easier such as answering phone calls, redialling and pressing play/pause.

They also have a CVC 8.0 noise reducing technology, which make them the ideal companion for use at work so you can take a business phone call, without worrying about being interrupted by external noise.

While the Mpow EM16 V5.0 invisible earpieces are insanely lightweight, weighing just 3g, they’re actually quite bulky when in your ear. You won’t struggle with uncomfortableness while wearing these, but they’re not quite as invisible as some of their competitors.

However, I really couldn’t recommend these earbuds enough; I love how great their noise cancelling technology is and the long battery life means that you can enjoy using them all day.

Pros:

  • Long battery life
  • Noise cancelling technology
  • Incredibly lightweight

Cons:

  • Look a little bulkier than some other earbuds

Key specs:

  • Weight: 3g
  • Battery life: 8 hours
  • Waterproof: yes
  • Noise cancelling: yes

6. Mini Invisible Bluetooth Earbud – best durable earbud

Arguably one of the most simply designed (and named) invisible earbuds on this list, the Mini Invisible Bluetooth Earbud is a strong contender for the best affordable invisible earpiece.

Not only are they very affordable, but they’re also incredible durable. While they don’t claim to have an exact IPX waterproof rating, one review I read online claimed that they had dropped them numerous times and even got one a bit wet and they’ve still held up well. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend throwing the earbud about and splashing it with water, but it’s reassuring to know just how durable they are.

One downside to the Mini Invisible Bluetooth Earbud is that the noise cancelling technology isn’t quite as up to scratch as some of the other earbuds featured on this list, or indeed the ones we listed on the best wireless earbuds guide.

However, the sound quality in itself is still pretty decent and you can make calls and listen to music through the Mini Invisible Bluetooth Earbud without too much difficulty.

Pros:

  • Very affordable
  • Charge quickly
  • Durable

Cons:

  • Noise cancelling not quite up to scratch

Key specs:

  • Weight: 4.5g
  • Battery life: 4 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: yes

7. GoNovate G11 Wireless Earbud – best invisibility

GoNovate have many different models of invisible Bluetooth earbuds but arguably their best model to date is the GoNovate G11 Wireless Earbud. This particular brand of hidden Bluetooth earbud is my personal choice for “best invisibility” as they’re so discreet and unnoticeable, it really is hard to see them in someone’s ear.

Their unique shape also conforms to the shape of your ear canal, and as they’re relatively lightweight, you can barely feel a thing.

Unfortunately, the GoNovate G11 Wireless Earbuds don’t come equipped with noise cancelling or waterproof technology so they’re not quite as advanced as some of the other earbuds on this list. However, they do have a battery life of 6 hours, which makes them compete fairly well with most other models.

Overall, I’d recommend the GoNovate G11 Wireless Earbud if you’re looking for a truly invisible Bluetooth earbud.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Very comfortable
  • Very unnoticeable

Cons:

  • Not noise cancelling

Key specs:

  • Weight: 4.5g
  • Battery life: 6 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: No

8. Focuspower F10 Mini Bluetooth Earbud – best versatile

From the extensive research that I undertook when creating this guide to the best invisible Bluetooth earbuds, I found many reviews claiming that the Focuspower F10 Mini Bluetooth Earbud was the best in terms of how small and compact they are.

While I would have to argue that the GoNovate G11 earbud (featured above) is better in terms of discreetness, the Focuspower F10 Mini Bluetooth Earbud comes a close second.

Furthermore, these earbuds have a very respectable battery life of 7 hours, which means that they’ll last a vast majority of the day before you need to worry about them running out of charge.

They also have a long wireless range of up to 33 feet, so you can connect to your smartphone and then wander around your house without worrying whether they’ll suddenly disconnect or not.

I’d highly recommend investing in the Focuspower F10 Mini Bluetooth Earbud; they’re not the cheapest earbuds featured on this list, but they are very versatile and even without waterproof or noise cancelling technology, they still offer a range of advantageous features to make your life easier.

Pros:

  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Long wireless range

Cons:

  • Not waterproof or noise cancelling

Key specs:

  • Weight: 5g
  • Battery life: 7 hours
  • Waterproof: No
  • Noise cancelling: No

Invisible Bluetooth Earbuds – Protecting your ears when using earbuds

best invisible bluetooth earbuds in 2020 - Protecting Your Ears

Credit: Donn Dughi – Wikimedia

While I’m a firm believer that earbuds are an excellent modern-day, technological invention and I’m a huge advocate for earbuds, I do recognise that there are some potential damages that can be caused to your ears.

Indeed, as part of my research for this review guide, I kept coming across certain worries and queries about the damages that earbuds can do to your ears. That’s why  I’ve included this section to offer some guidance on how to protect your ears when using earbuds!

Be aware of the shape and design of the earbuds

My first tip for protecting your ears while wearing earbuds is to be fully aware of the shape and design of the earbuds you’re wearing. Not all models of earbuds are the same shape and size so not every design might be suitable for you.

If you have small ears, then you might want to avoid bulkier models of earbuds such as Bose and Cambridge Audio. These brands of earbuds tend to be a little trickier to wear for people with smaller ears so just be aware of this when purchasing a new pair of buds.

Don’t listen to loud music for an extended period of time

This goes without saying when listening to music via any audio device, but it’s especially important when wearing earbuds. Loud music that’s being blasted directly into your ears via your earbuds can cause damage to your ear drum if you listen to it for an extended period of time.

This means that you should be careful not to blast booming music through your earbuds for many hours at a time.

Limit your use of earbuds to just a few hours a day

Similarly to avoiding listening to loud music for long periods of time, you should also limit your use and wear of earbuds to just a few hours a day. Of course, if you’re using the earbuds mainly just to make and take calls, then this isn’t quite as bad as listening to loud music all day long, but you still need to take care of your outer ear too.

Even if you feel that your earbuds are very comfortable, they will still be applying pressure to your ears in some way, so try not to wear them all day, every day if you can help it.

Stop wearing them if you can feel irritation in your ears

This might seem like common sense, but it’s imperative that you stop wearing your earbuds immediately if you feel any discomfort. Don’t try and push through just because you want to listen to the latest Taylor Swift album!

Your ears are incredibly important parts of your body and you need to look after them as well as possible, so if you start to feel any irritation or discomfort due to wearing earbuds, make sure you stop using them immediately.

Check with your doctor if your ears feel sore

That brings me on to my next point; always check with your doctor if your ears start to feel sore for a prolonged period of time. Your doctor will be able to advise you as to whether you need to stop using earbuds altogether, or whether you just need to buy a better fitting pair.

Either way, it’s important that you keep your ears protected while using earbuds and make sure you look after your hearing, while still enjoying listening to great music through your earbuds!
